BABY SAFETY
Taking action to the concept that our infants are the most precious possession we move the Baby Shield technology into the work place for baby safety outside of the parental environment.
Although not recognised as a workplace with regard to baby safety the most common area would be at the start of life (a newborns / maternity ward).
Midwifes and other healthcare professionals would regard baby safety as their most important function within a hospital but we must understand their priorities and training. Baby safety would be defined as good clinical care and practice with mother and infant their primary focus. The Hospital is responsible for baby safety until discharged and this more practical security function for the prevention of abduction is outside of the medical focus. Medical priority will always be paramount and although no lesser importance is placed on baby safety regarding security their working environment would not allow distractions.
Open door policy on wards even today only pays a token presence to baby safety. Positive entrance control or man guards requires nothing more then a token vetting to gain access to a neo natal ward and is as effective as a doorman at a hotel. Exiting with regards to baby safety is generally unimpeded and is still reliant on individual recognition.
